Tavern

Food

The Russian Tavern serves pre-revolutionary cuisine which was inspired by French chefs who worked in traktirs and restauraztias established in St.Petersburg by order of Peter I in 18th century. The chefs used Russian and Eastern European ingredients prepared with French cooking methods. In a tradition of these establishments the menu of the Tavern includes Russian ( Borsh, Zapekanka, Beef Stroganoff) as well as French dishes – (MOULES a la MARINIERE and COQUILLE ST. JACQUES). The dishes are preapared to order to include the best local Scottish ingredients such as beef, fish, wild garlic, herbs, mussels and raiser clamps.
